Water Heating Installation

Say Goodbye to Cold Showers: Water Heater Installation

A water heater is an energy-efficient appliance that helps provide comfort for an extended period of time. However, it can only do this efficiently if properly installed.

A bad installation can result in damage and, at worst, start a fire. It is essential to have the right water heater installation services in New Orleans to avoid complications.

About Water Heaters

Need tankless water heater installation?

A water heater can be tankless or tanked. It can also function through a gas burner or electric heating rods.

A tankless heater will heat water instantly, while a tanked one will store it, ready for use.

A lot of people mistake it for a boiler that handles home heating through the use of steam.

A boiler will take water, heat it until it becomes steam, and send it throughout a home.

Hot water installation is not a DIY project. You must get an honest and reliable water heater installation service to develop a customized solution for your project.

Electric Water Heaters and Gas Heaters

Electric water heaters have become a popular choice in recent years.

They look like gas-powered heaters in appearance, but electric ones use heating elements that extend into the water tank.

Gas heaters use a burner that heats water from below.

When repairing gas heaters, the problem often lies with the burners or connections to the gas. Water can get into the burner, causing it to stop igniting when you need hot water.

For electric heaters, problems are usually traced back to the heating element. When this occurs, a replacement becomes necessary.

This replacement is typically inexpensive. A plumber ensures that the installation is correct.

We provide you with the technical expertise to identify challenges with your electric water heating system and address those challenges during the planning phase.

Troubleshooting

Both tanks will suffer if there is a lack of regular maintenance. Improper settings can also make it seem like there is a problem with your system.

You can diagnose and fix simple issues with these steps:

Electric Heater

1. Turn off the power before checking any parts to avoid electrocution.

2. Check the heater’s circuit breaker to see if it is still on. If it is, try to reset the high-temperature limit.

To do this, remove the access panel and press the reset button above the thermostat. Be careful not to touch the electrical wires.

3. Check the heat setting on the thermostats. They should be at the same temperature, at around 115–125°F. Any higher will indicate that the water is getting too hot.

Make sure to check if the wires still have any electricity through a tester. Adjust the temperature to the desired setting using a flathead screwdriver.

4. If the problem persists, call for professional help.

Gas Heater

1. Turn off the gas through the regulator valve. Wait five minutes for the gas to dissipate from the chamber.

2. Remove the burner chamber cover. A cover that is improperly positioned can also cause the heater’s pilot light to blow out.

3. Use a flashlight to locate the two gas tubes that connect the valve to the burner. The larger tube is the burner, and the smaller tube is the pilot flame.

4. Turn the gas control knob to the pilot setting and hold it there. While doing so, use a long-handled lighter to ignite the pilot light.

Hold the control knob for a minute to help the thermocouple heat up.

1. Release the button and turn on the gas control valve. Check the heat in your home and return the cover to its place.

2. If the problem persists, contact professional help.

When Do I Need A Replacement?

A water heater usually lasts for around 8 to 10 years. How long it will last depends on how much maintenance it gets.

Replacement is generally decided after you get advice from professionals.

Over time, the heater can experience clogs, leaks, or corrosion that could shorten its lifespan. Tanks consist of steel, which will rust.

You can identify a rust problem if your water starts to appear brownish.

Your water supply also has sediments that can accumulate over the years. This later causes clogging issues.

These clogs can cause leaks if they damage the passageways within your tanks. Other factors, such as harsh weather, can also lead to leaks.

In choosing a water heater replacement, make sure that you are getting a newer, more energy-efficient model.

The manufacturers of these newer models follow the manufacturing requirements for energy efficiency that the US government recently updated through the National Energy Conservation Act.
